class yt.data_objects.derived_quantities.MaxLocation(data_source)[source]¶

Calculates the maximum value plus the index, x, y, and z position of the maximum.

Parameters:	field : field The field over which the extrema are to be calculated.

Examples

>>> ds = load("IsolatedGalaxy/galaxy0030/galaxy0030")
>>> ad = ds.all_data()
>>> print ad.quantities.max_location(("gas", "density"))
