Kafal (the “Software”) is proprietary software owned by Janmay Joshi. By obtaining a copy of the Software, you agree to the terms of this license.

1. GRANT OF PERMISSION

Subject to the terms below, you are granted a worldwide, royalty‑free, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to:

1.1. Use the Software for any lawful purpose, including personal, educational, research, and commercial projects.

1.2. Integrate the Software into your own products, services, and internal tools.

1.3. Distribute products or services that depend on or make use of the Software.

No fees, revenue share, or attribution are required, although attribution to “Kafal by Janmay Joshi” is appreciated but not mandatory.

2. RESTRICTIONS

You MAY NOT:

2.1. Sell, license, sublicense, or otherwise distribute the Software itself as a standalone product or library, whether in source or compiled form.

2.2. Claim ownership of the Software, its name (“Kafal”), or represent it as your own creation.

2.3. Remove or alter any copyright notices or license terms included with the Software.

2.4. Use the name “Kafal” or “Janmay Joshi” to endorse or promote derived products or services without prior written permission.

Use of the Software is permitted only under this license. No rights are granted by implication or estoppel.

3. SOURCE CODE AND MODIFICATIONS

3.1. If you have access to the source code, you may modify it for your own use or for use within your own products and services.

3.2. You MAY NOT publicly distribute modified or unmodified versions of the Software’s source code, nor create or distribute derivative libraries that are intended to replace or compete with the Software, without prior written consent from the copyright holder.

3.3. Bug fixes, improvements, or contributions you choose to submit back to the author or project are, unless otherwise agreed in writing, licensed to the author on a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty‑free basis for any use.

4. NO WARRANTY

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OR ANY CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS; OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

6. TERMINATION

6.1. This license is effective until terminated.

6.2. Your rights under this license will automatically terminate without notice if you fail to comply with any term of this license.

6.3. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software, but termination does not require you to remove or shut down products or services already deployed that incorporate the Software, unless they themselves violate this license.

7. GOVERNING LAW

This license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this license or the Software shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India, to the extent such jurisdiction is lawful.
